...awesomeness.

Once again this fine CT spring a.m., I strolled right on past me other toyses and plopped my happyass right into that ohsofine Recaro Trophy. Running late to work having to drop The Boy off @ school so he could bring in his ginormous Turks & Caicos conch shell show 'n tell... means two things:

A) traffic's lighter
II) WOT(!!!)

I manage my 26mi highway commute nearly door-to-door 130. Why? Because. In //Superlative Awesomeness I'm quickly and painfully reminded of how capable, instigating, rewarding, and intimidating (to the cars in front in the way) this thing is. Cars simply PEEL away as it approaches - GTFOOTW!!!

I arrive and exit the Aluminum Chamber of Delight and look back at it as I walk toward the doldrums of 'work'. What a f'n car. Worth the daily grind of sweating away to own the f'er ohso most certainly. Makes the day go by fast knowing all too well that WOT 120+ awaits my departure yeah.

This was preceded by yesterday's lunchtime express in the 930. Month-end, collections, defaults, deadlines - I'm outta here I cried, noon it was. A 3 highway jaunt interconnected with the most JNR series of ramps and tunnels saw 120-130 door-to-door-to-door. Ahhhhhhh, I returned ohso refreshed - like a new man really. I highly recommend it (don't try this @ home kids!).

uuuuuummm...

Issues.

Anywho

I'm also reminded on this wondrous Friday at how many friends I've made through these circles, and how their 'ownerships' have evolved. I hosted yet another Gathering of Fewls (GoF) @ my place last Sat. Sunset and 80* and 25 of my nuttiest of nutball friends, enjoying a refreshment or three, busting on e/o and having good laughs. Life is GOOD. Looking out @ the driveway / road tho, it's an equal split these days of Audi / non-Audi.

Shortshort version: Mike Lardizabal's e34 ///M5 with incredulous massive SSR's. Steve Young's impressive midnight blue debadged 740iSport - just got and beginning to transform into major muwhahaahaa, can't wait the results. The cleanest MkII Scirocco you've ever seen from Jim Pasqualooney. Domo Oregato Mr. Rossato's Corrado SLC after 2yrs. of sitting for no reason other than Bob's Bob. Tom Mullane's s/c'd Miata and Rich Assarabowski's CSP prep'd Miata towing still-warm Hoosiers - yummy to both! My IT guy's purty 951 and my local Pnut's clone-to-mine 930. The most slammed 1st gen VWcabby you've ever seen (head of CT VW Assoc.) running 13x7's(!!!!).

OKOKOK... Audi content: Uncle Bob Pastore's clone-to-my silver //S8 and Frank Stadmeyer's ohhhhhhsonice blk / grey alcantara //S8. Julian Barrera's clean urS6 and Tommy Pollock's pearl B5biturbo. Dave Brown's denim blue e92 330i. Great turnout of diverse funthings.

Point is - 99% of these FOKKERS came from urS4/6's (mostly) or CQ's or or or or. Or they still have one of those. Or an //S8. Or both.

Scenes from the pre-dusk early arrivals (//SFest Planning Committee, or like, something) - it was entrancing being caught in a gaze of that wheel this wheel that wheel. Or, this line that line this line - amongst the iron present. Kept the mind stimulated and the imagination healthy. SUCH great times with GREAT DUDES... lovin' it: GoF<http://picasaweb.google.com/pkrasusky/GoF42509>

What I love is that we're all gamers here - no pathetic tie to a "marque". We like cars - cool cars. It's like bewbs really... we like 'em, all of 'em - the more the merrier I say, esp. when they're like "this":

YMMV.

Happy Friday all!

-Paul will be under the 930 tonight / tomorrow in prep for June's run to The Dragon / Carolina Motorsports Park - if yer bored - K.
