Once open don't close it again until repairs are completed or some
sort of jack-leg temporary "fix" has been accomplished. I was able to
run a wire from each of the latch releases outside to the grill area
which would allow me to pull on the (temporary) wires to pop the hood
open. Looked like H*** but I could get into the engine bay when
needed until the repair parts finally arrived and I could fix it
properly. BTW, those little spring clips which terminate the cable
appear almost to be made of unobtainium. When it pops off and flies
off to parts unknown ya got a problem. Some sort of a retainer wire
for the clip is probably a good idea.
