Only a 1000 miles. Go for it.

Imagine all the people that drive without ever knowing their CV boots are
ripped until their mechanic finds it for them. And even after that it's
simply add grease and boot.

AND...the only CV boots that do much articulation are the front outers...
during corners. The others (your rear outer CV) don't articulate much and
are 'relatively' quiet in comparison.

My experience says CVs are quite durable even when suffering a ripped boot.
