Supposedly the Meyle rep was very helpful in diagnosing the reason for the premature failure of their mount and they made a run of updated mounts with improved rubber/metal bonding and a handful of folks on the UrS forums on AW at the time were using them and observed marked improvement over previous product from Meyle. I think this was about 6-8 months ago?

So basically, avoid anything made by Meyle?

Amongst other things, I am getting an allignement next week so today I took a look at my strut top mounts (the part that you move to adjust camber). I removed them and noted two things: 1) the rubber is starting to crack around the metal bushing so I suppose I better replace them. 2) My car rides on the front bumpstops while sitting with no occupants (mit Eibachs/Koni Sports installed by PO). The bumpstops are about 4"/10cm long.

> Also, if they should be trimmed, would that also apply to the rear suspension (as I assume they were also not trimmed). That would be a bit of a bummer, as they would be harder to get to.
