George, my replacement coil has the red top, but I'm not sure if it is what
you are using, but this may be the simple solution for Apikol users without
going back to stock or going with the GM coils that others are using with
success.

Can you give a part number here for the red top coil?

Any way we can check out your modifications with the heat sink? Can you post
photos someplace or maybe email me some directly?

Your setup sounds sweet, so I'm interested in learning more, as I'd love to
tweak the Apikol system to get a more extended life from the coils.
