[s-cars] Gentlemen, start your rollers

That's a great result of a fairly accepted way of DIY painting your
boat. It's called "tip and roll", where you roll on the paint, then
very lightly drag a foam brush over where you just rolled to eliminate
the stipple from the foam roller. You typically tests on a pane of
glass. Testing enables you to get the proper ratio of reducer to suit
the conditions right then, particularly temperature and humidity, so
the paint flows away any trace of how it was applied, but not so much
flow that it sags.
While this might not jibe with visions of a sterile spray booth,
exceptional results can be realized, as this Corvair shows.
