If only the WR G2 were as good as the WR I would be happy. They see to be a step backwards in the snow and slush in winter function and about equal on dry pavement.I don;t know where Nokian is going with their pricing. I've sold their tires since 1978 and can't justify the price/winter function as a good value anymore. I feel that the Hak 2 and Hak Q were their last super great tires in winter. They didn't have the best dry handling, but if you wanted to get thru 10 in of snow; they did it!

Yeah, unfortunately snow plowing around here is rather sporatic. I've had to
make 9 miles of unplowed snow 10" deep many a time. Does wonders for
cleaning the underbody.
I *tried* WR-G2's once (the past two winters, which have been mild) and I
wasn't impressed. Pretty damn good for an all season, but pin-and-needles
for 50+ mile treks back from civilization just aren't worth it. And I'd
venture a guess that the WR-G2 are about as effective as the Wintersport
M3/D3 (from my previous experience with them when I lived in civilization).
