[s-cars] Tint Removal

+1 to heat gun. won't crack the windows unless you do something crazy dumb
with it. just had to do my S6 fronts a few months ago (stupid
inspection...)

trick to a clean peel: heat from the outside/backside in fact (heat the
glass not the film).

this makes the adhesive on the glass the hottest/softest/first to melt and
leaves the adhesive goo on the film rather than leaving the adhesive behind
on the glass. after getting the glass along the edge your starting with
reasonably hot, start peeling the film from the inside while you play the
heat gun over the backside glass along the peeling edge. keep working the
heatgun down the window as you peel, heating ahead of the 'peel line'. with
practice I can get an entire window with almost no tearing or goo left
behind. despite it being reasonably safe, I do still play the gun across
the whole surface to preheat it a bit at first to ensure no thermal stress.

acetone generally cleans up most tint film adhesive but my heat gun job left
almost nothing behind at all.
