[s-cars] The S6 rack replacement from hell continues

It sounds like the steering column is getting caught on something, preventing upward movement??

If is designed somewhat as in the 4KQ/VW QSW, the steering column is made up of parts; somewhere through the middle of it, it has two prongs, fork-like, that slide in and out of a receiving end of the upper column.

When doing the same job you're doing in my QSW, I kind of had the same issues you're having, albeit I removed the lower dash skins to take a look at what the heck was going on.

I imagine that removing the lower portion of your S6's dash is more involved than my simple QSW, however.

Just take your time to see it through :)

Let us know how it works out.
