[s-cars] Photos from Lime Rock Vintage Car Event

What I did on my summer vacation...

I spent the day Saturday at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, 
watching a few hundred vintage racers mix it up on the course. Of 
special interest was a 1930s Mercedes 154 race car that hadn't 
been run on the track in 50 years.

Now that I think about it, I didn't see a single Audi on the 
track. Lots of Porsches, Jaguars, Astons, Corvettes, Minis, 
Ferraris, even a Volvo 122S (that kept up pretty well with a 
Ferrari in its class!).

I took a few photos...the Mercedes is in the first couple of 
pages. It's quite similar to the DKW car that was featured in a 
Discovery Channel show a few months ago. Brought to NYC, then 
taken to be sold at auction but wasn't due to questions about its 
history.

The Mercedes was quite striking in person...and I did get a chance 
to get up close.
