Help it dry out by getting the engine compartment hot.  Ie, drive it
until engine coolant and oil are normal temperatures, and then park it
and let it idle for 5-10 minutes (don't just idle from cold, this
takes much, much longer and causes engine wear.)  Then open the hood-
everything will be toasty and any water left should quickly evaporate.

However, if water a)was ingested into the engine (relatively unlikely,
given how high the airbox is) or b)got into an electrical connector,
the above won't help.

What exactly are the differences in operation after the 'excursion'?
How long have you driven it since?
