At one time, ECS had a bit of a problem with their aluminum caliper
brackets cracking and breaking. Maybe they've fixed it, or maybe
merely delayed repeat occurances.

It's your money/life, so that's a gamble that you make the call on.
When I made my call, I went with 993TT calipers, RS2 steel brackets,
and 323x30 A8L (D2) rotors, with Hawk HPS pads. At the time, I had to
source all those things separately, and it was a bit of a pain.

These days, if you can get 993TT calipers, Apikol will sell you the
rest of the stuff. Or, go 034 for the Boxster conversion. I would
avoid ECS brake products, but only because i have heard more negative
than I like about their products.

As far as clearance goes, I ran 5mm spacers (also from Apikol) when I
was running my 16" AVUS. I have 17" AVUS now, and need no spacers.
:)
