If memory serves me correctly (IMSMC), Scott did weigh in on this thread and indicated the use of a multimeter using one of the rear sensors as the baseline.? Again, IMSMC.

I got to a PC and can finally read the entire email, instead of just a little
piece of it on my Blackberry.

Ian was talking about a connector in the center console, not engine compartment.
So the connector behind the AC is not the one for the ABS controller, and there
doesn't seem to be a way to communicate with the ABS controller other than
through the ECU.

I found an old email from Scott Mockry, in which he said the pre 94 year S4's
don't have the diagnostic capability,
which makes it a pain to diagnose ABS problems.

Seems like the only way to do it is with an oscilloscope. Anybody tried this?

I apologize in advance if I am asking inane questions, but I appear to be
missing emails as I am seeing replies to email that I haven't seen on the list.

To recap:
The 2x2 connector for the ABS is behind the AC. If there is no communication
with the ABS controller, the control module is faulty. It is located under the
rear seat.

Does this apply to the '92 S4 as well? Do they all have the same ABS controller
(except possibly for the later models with EDL)?

Thanks Tom. I'll see if I can track one down.

Seem plausible? Where might the controller be located as
