[s-cars] ABS Off Light Problem - VAG COM

Or with the original VAG diagnostics unit I mentioned in prior email. I acquired one
after I tried to get the dealer to diagnose this sort of problem, only to find they
really don't support this any more and did not even have one of these available. I
could not pay them to do this job because they didn't have the equipment available.
Since I have had these types of problems with just about every ABS equipped car I've
owned, I tracked a unit down.

I brought to attention to dealer management that this sort of safety related system
diagnostics should be supported - no matter how old the cars are. The request sort of
fell on deaf ears!

I got to a PC and can finally read the entire email, instead of just a little piece of
it on my Blackberry.

Ian was talking about a connector in the center console, not engine compartment. So the
connector behind the AC is not the one for the ABS controller, and there doesn't seem to
be a way to communicate with the ABS controller other than through the ECU.

I found an old email from Scott Mockry, in which he said the pre 94 year S4's don't have
the diagnostic capability, which makes it a pain to diagnose ABS problems.

Seems like the only way to do it is with an oscilloscope. Anybody tried this?]
