Gentlemen.

Paul D is one lucky guy who has a 1995.5 S6 with 26K original miles.! I
came to know him thru a Stromung GB recently. Paul does read Tha List
regularly..
His S6 is TAP stage1 with RS2 EM on K24.. , all else is stock I believe. He
bought it from original owner in CT, some time ago so it''s provenance is
undisputed.

He experienced a very unfortunate metallic screech and bang sound recently,
and immediately shut down the engine.

Paul wrote to me"

Here's what I found out, i had put in bosch F6DTC and the center ceramic
separated and swivels so I replaced with Bosch BSF5DP0R and same thing
happened, except for cylinder #1 plug had broke the electrode and part of the
ceramic inside. I had the car towed home, and my mercedes mechanic friend
looked inside the cylinder thru the spark plug hole in the head with a
borescope and didn't find anything. He suggested to do a compression test and
a leak down test and then to put in new plugs and give it a try. I'm
hesident because if nothing is damaged and if the pieces are still in the
cylinder/head it could cause damage. But I really don't want to pull the head
for nothing. Got any suggestions? will be checking fixing tomarrow as I'm
at work today. I really want to get the S6 back on the road so I can get the
Stromung exhaust happening.
Thanks,
Paul"

Next Paul inserted a magnetic tool and extracted some metallic objects.from
Cyl #1... and he's not certain if there's any other stuff in there..

Does anyone here know of a reputable AAN mechanic near Burbank CA? because
it's kinda tough to haul it up to Chicago (Scott J) or Colorado (Dave) If
they were even available and interested.. Even 2B is quite a drive (6 hours)

His question is: to pull or not to pull the AAN head, what should he do?
