[s-cars] clutch slave cylinder advice.....(And alt. jack points)

Thanks Stott. I've done this on my cq, but access is less restricted there. On the cq I had a shop that makes brake lines make up a capped piece to go in where the line does and it held the piston compressed by vacuum. Made install easy! This is the same part # but it doesn't want to hold vacuum like the other. That's the least of my worries now though....I haven't even been able to get at the 13mm bolt, even with the wheel removed. Which brings me to another question... Is there an alternate jacking point to raise the car so that I can get stands under the factory points to rest it on?

Slave can be easier, assuming your hard brake line isn't nasty. Slave is
held into the bell housing with one 13mm bolt. I'd suggest breaking the
brake line fitting free at the slave, then tightening so it doesn't leak.
Then remove the 13mm, and wiggle/maneuver the slave out. At that point you
can swap the line from slave to slave. Installation is reverse of removal.

If you find that the hard brake line just gets in the way or you fear
damaging it, you can disconnect it first and move it out of the way.
Prepare to plug it somehow, or else it will piss brake fluid everywhere the
whole time. (I have an old rubber brake line cut down with the rubber end
plugged and the female fitting which I can screw onto the slave line.)

The slave just noses into a milled/fitted slot on the bell housing and snugs
down flush, then is secured by the 13mm bolt. Trick is getting the push rod
to mate into the pushrod lever inside, and compress into the slave cylinder
etc. Less of an issue when the slave isn't filled with fluid and you only
have to fight internal spring pressure and not also trying to compress brake
fluid.

Once installed, reattached line and power bleed.

I usually get it from below (on a lift sorry), but you can get to it from
above if you have long/thinnish arms.

master changed...how hard is slave to change?...looks impossible to get to
and I'm still dizzy from being upside down... have a slave cylinder in hand
and realize it should be changed...
in a bit of a time crunch... need to drive car. How hard is it to get to?
Looks darned near impossible even with front wheel off. Best angle of
attack?
