[s-cars] A4 turbo mod questions

I don't know, guys. I guess it depends on the teenager. When my nephew,
who we adopted, first started to drive he got my old '89 200 Wagon that had
been chipped and ran pretty darn quick. When that car went belly up he got
a '91 20 valve 200 wagon that we found for $2400. In 2007, when I got my
'01 S4 he now drives my chipped '92 S4 - sold the '91 200 for 2k more than
we bought it for :) This path started when he was 16 and is now 23. He has
gotten one speeding ticket and has not been in any accidents besides a
couple of scrapes in a parking lot. I think it totally depends on the kid.
Whereas myself, when I first started driving I had a 1970 Dodge Dart with a
slant 6 and a 1 bbl carburetor, but I still managed to get it into the
bushes a couple of times by doing stupid crap :)
There are extreme cases where I would not allow a kid who has not learned
car control to drive a car that can easily get out of control. For
instance, I never let my nephew drive my '72 Firebird with a 455 when he was
younger. That would have been silly. But other than brutish cars like
that, I don't think it matters how fast the car is or isn't. If the kid
wants to go 100 mph and be reckless he can do that in a Kia or a souped up
A4. Some of the worst accidents I have ever seen kids die in happened in
SUVs and ho-hum sedans.
Just my 2 cents "post teenager" :)

Manual boost control? Yeah like any teenager worth his testosterone isn't
going to figure that one out within 24 hours... "hey doods look at this knob
under the hood, let's crank it up!" (plus I would guess that the ECU would
start choking on that because it wasn't getting the values it expected and
throwing CEL's and codes.)
I'm with Taka - you need custom mapping, and Revo has multiple map options
so I'm pretty sure you can get a dealer to customize a 'wimpy' mode
(otherwise called valet) for you and then lock that in. But really a stock
car would be a better all around solution...
