[s-cars] Can't Open Hood

If the pull on the wire at the lever doesn't work then the likely 
problem is that the retainer clip for the release cable at the 
business end has come off.  I have heard reports of being able to 
sick a tool through the top of the radiator space to operate the 
lever from there.  I have never been successful at this 
operation.  Instead I have had to reach up from below and operate the 
locks from below.  It is a tight fit for your arm to get up in there 
and you'll probably lose a half pint or so of blood but the hood can 
be opened this way.  Once opened either repair the actual problem of 
install a couple of wires through the front so you can pull the wires 
to operate the release.  This is a temporary fix but it can be done 
with some success.  This will provide some time to allow obtaining 
the missing "golf tee" piece for the latch release.
