George,
If you are going to use the GM sensor because you have it, the classic
way is to identify the pinout
for the transducer and attach pigtails inside and outside on the
connector pins to input the signal
from the exterior sensor.
I would expect that either Ben or Steve Eiche are eminently qualified
to install the sensor hook-up
if you are not a DIY guy in this area. They could also test the
resulting modification.
I suspect a lot of listers are interested in the new transducer.
