Steve,

I own two V1's and love them, I can't imagine living without the arrows, and if 
I was buying a detector now 

I would definitely check the V1's out.

However there are some competitors that have GPS capabilities in their units 
which combined with a 

database of speed traps, etc. could be helpful.

I do not know have any first hand knowledge of how sensitive they are, and the 
V1 has consistently ranked 

in the top for sensitivity.

My advice is to research the added GPS capabilities of the other brands and see 
if this is a feature important
to you.

As I look towards the x-country jaunt next week to drive the 18 year old to San 
Diego, 

I find myself in want of a new radar/laser detector.  I figure I'll bite the 
bullet 

and go for the upgradeable V1.  Any one have any opinion that there is something 
out 

there better?
