that probably explains the 'tinkling noise', if the caliper doesn't pull the
cable back then the fulcrum bar where the cables meet the lever linkage can
droop and touch the driveshaft (at least i've seen this numerous times on the
earlier type 44 cars)
doesn't explain the vibration though,..................m

Subject: [s-cars] Driveline noise/vibration.....somehow related to Parking Brake
seizure?
Another question guys,
I parked on a hill the other day and used the parking brake......it has been a
little touchy lately, not releasing right away, but this time it held the left
brake caliper enough to lock up the left rear wheel under slippery conditions
coasting down the hill......it released when I accelerated and there was no
excessive heat buildup on the disc later on. This happened a few days prior to
the increase in noise/vibration I'm experiencing now......any correlation? We
have had lots of weird cold/warm/moist weather cycles lately.
I guess 'll start with that side and see.......with only 106K on the clock,
seems like the driveshaft theory may be premature?
Thanks again fellas..........
Jim
