[s-cars] List wisdom appreciated- if ya' were to buy a dieselpassenger car, which one?

yeah I've not driven one but that 335D is supposed to be great and I just
talked to a guy who was going to "replace" his M3 with one.  not
apples/apples obv but still it is apparently another great motor from the
Bavarians.

aside from that, everybody I know who has a VAG product w/ TDI of any sort
seems to have a religious conversion.  wife's next car could easily be a TDI
A3 or similar. but after hearing SJ's remarks, I never really looked at the
V10 Touareg... might be something I should send my 'rents after, as they're
going to be in the market eventually...
