No doubt the VVME HID kits are assembled with cheap components. $42
express shipped to the US tells that story pretty well. The
performance over the last 3 years has been comparable to my wife's
$1200 OEM set. There are warranties and replacement parts available,
but with the hassle and cost of shipping from HK, it makes more sense
to just buy another entire kit. Checking their prices on ebay,
ordering a spare bulb set for spares is more than 1/2 the kit price.
Those connectors do need careful inspection on occasion since
they have to carry that initial start voltage. I particularly do not
like the looks of the H1 bulb connectors. The 9006 at least have some
protection around the connector.
