I'll concur with everything JC said -- I've got a 95.5 with an earlier generation Alpine ipod HU working fine.
I used the Metra harness, the antenna adapter, and two ground-loop isolators to fix the popping sound.  I've got the factory fronts fed by the HU preamp outs, all factory rears fed by the HU rear preamp outs, and a subwoofer in the trunk also fed by the HU preamp out.
I made a flush faceplate from a blank sheet of bezel I got from partsexpress.com because I never could find one that fit the 95.5.
And I'll also concur that although I have ipod control/charge from the HU, the interface stinks.
