[s-cars] aftermarket head units

OK,

Please don't hold me to this 100% but it should work with great results.

The radio was originally installed in a 1995 S6 Avant and I used the following instructions for that install:

http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=2175476

I used the following car in my Crutchfield order:

1996 Audi S6 Wagon with Bose Radio.

It turns out that this is the correct kit for a 1995.5 but not my 1995. It will get you the antenna adapter, faceplate ring, and wiring harness adapter with RCA inputs.

I ended up buying the METRA 70-1785 from a local installer for my 1995. I still have the Crutchfield harness for the 1995.5 and I will use that to put the radio into my new 1995.5 wagon (maybe I will try it this weekend if the weather is nice).

You still need to buy two RCA->RCA ground loop isolators.

These will go inline between the head unit and the wiring harness and eliminate the "pop" that occurs from the Bose amps when turning on the unit, changing sources, and changing stations.

Make sure you order your iPod cable if you want iPod controls. I think it's like $35.

This is the best deal I found for a BT-enabled head unit with red LED's. I really like the BT integration with the car speakers. Makes my '95 feel like an '05.

THAT SAID.....

I will be pulling a Concert and PhatNoise from my 1995.5 to install the Alpine. If you want that instead I will sell the radio and PhatNoise for the same price as the Alpine ($200)
