I think this seems to be true.

Old Volvo stories and a few others excepted, I remember when we thought of
100k as the death sentence for a car.

That's clearly not the case anymore. Ye Olde S6 Battlewagen is at 190K and
going strong even as a not particularly great specimen. Even the wife's dumb
Jeep at 90K is remarkably rock solid (the rust'll get that one eventually
tho')...
