Driver profile likely has something to do with it.  I suspect that most Corvette drivers are older and more mature, while STi drivers tended to be young spiky-haired guys with more aggressiveness and less experience.

I was surprised when my friend told me that his E60 M5 cost less to insure than the E36 M3 he had before.

Insurance doesn't make a lot of sense to me how they figure out rates- my
Corvette cost about 1/2 of my STi. My Miata costs 2/3 of my Corvette premium
even without collision coverage.
