FWIW
Ditto to Taka. Mine is a B5 1.8t ATW w/ chipped MTM ECU. 5-speed
I need 91 or above octaine, but outside of a coil or 2 a year it has been real good.
Change my Mobil 1 approx every 4-4500k and Seafoam and no issues. 168k on the OD
Just make sure your using the larger oil filter and you should not have a problem.

I'm with Wylie on this one- I prefer the 1.8T engines and actually prefer
the B5 to the B6- I think the B6 suffers from being overweight and it looks
it. The B7's taillights and other styling changes keep it from looking so
frumpy.
Use a fully synthetic motor oil and it should be fine. Great mileage too- I
could get about 24-25mpg city and 30 mpg highway.
