Jerry, et al,

I have not used this particular ECS Schwaben kit, but a friend did let me
borrow an identical appearing chi-com-trash kit about a decade ago before i
had a handle on what i was doing AND before i had a proper Schley kit.

the results of that borrowing event was a frustrating return of the kit
after having to put my disassembled front end (thought id to both fronts at
the same time& had it quite apart..) back together. Those kits IMO do not
supply a satisfctory method for removing the hub itself.

I'd like to know how others have dealt with the hub using this kit alone.

Theres also a minor issue of the inner race that usually stays on the hub
this kit doesnt tend to either. i used to get clever with my air chisel &
dremel but have since purchased a 3 jaw puller, i believe called 'posi-lock'
at sears and find that quite useful for many jobs (made in the states too if
i remember correctly).

freezing the bearing for at least a couple hours really does help.

also, giving the housing solid whacks with a large deadblow relatively
gently(so you dont have to swing like a madman but still shock it well)
while working your ratchet&cheater bar aids bearing removal & doesnt risk
killing the essential and now unobtainable Schley bolt.

i sparingly use air tools and dont ever on bearing jobs.

its been a while but i think it was Jim at Pendergrass tools in Cali that
was a great help in sourcing a couple NLA pieces if youre interested.

& if you search the list archives i think ive gone into greater detail
previously.

-brian
