[s-cars] [slightly OT] - 5K bucking

hi s-list, sometime the quattro list accepts my emails sometimes it
doesn't,  so i ask looking to save some time.

got a 5k that i recently did a mild tune-up on. Plugs,cap/rotor,air&fuel
filter.  I also rewired the thermo-time since the original was corroded to
the point of disconnected.  Used a new gauge[expensive!] with clean harness
plucked from a salvage yard.  Also rewired the exansion tank as the last
goons that had this car didnt wnat to hear about low coolant so they
grounded it elsewhere.  I didnt do plug wires to save some $ and dont know
the age of the rest of the various system components.

The problem; violent bucking during low speed initial acceleration,  does
seem most profound at cold start.

looking to see if someone more familiar with the 44s knows a common culprit
suiting the above description
