This might be one of those threads similar to discussions about motor oil, anti-seize or torsen diffs....

I think I have the worst luck with jacks.

I have a 3 ton, steel, crapsman jack that weighs almost as much as my car. It has always dropped the car too quickly for my taste so I stopped using it due to the lack of control (my back thanked me).

I had the cheap HF aluminum jack that bent under the weight of Ms Piggy.

My latest is the visually beefier HF jack:

which is around $160.

 I really wish I could fix the numerous other jacks I have in the basement. I've tried bleeding them, adding hydraulic jack oil, bleeding them again, but I've never been able to get that nice controlled descent feeling that they had when brand new. My sears jack was plain scary when I had to drop the car down.
