Steve, you might fare well to find the end of that crimp on clamp, and get
just under the end of it with sidecutters/dikes/snips, to lift it over
another securing tab you might see folded over through an open square
cutout.

a really thin tipped flathead can work too..  once it pops all is good and
can be replaced with a worm drive clamp, but those crimp on type if sized
correctly really are nice. I used to hate them for years, but now keep a
steady stock of them handy.

Be gentle as you can on those intake hoses, but I think that stem youre
referring to has a hardened sleeve inside.
