[s-cars] Does the subframe have to drop to remove AAN oil pan ?

Hi:
Helping a buddy who wants to inspect the lower unit. of his high miler
 "92.. by removing the oil pan.

Do we have to drop  subframe to remove the AAN oil pan ?
Yeah I got the Bentley but wanted to poll Da List wisdom.
