[s-cars] Blown turbo & Life lesson #3568921

It's probably a tough call for resellers - 3yrs is a long time, and what
we don't know is if the part was resalable after that amount of time.
Perhaps the model is no longer made and would be difficult to resell
even if they took it back and fixed it?
I'm sure they're also tied to the manufacturers willingness to warranty
the part. I think perhaps a discount on getting it fixed would have been
a good call to retain customer good will.
I've also learned from experience that buying parts WAY before I really
need them is a mistake - sometimes I've bought parts thinking I'd get
right to them, but that was due to a lack of experience to forecast the
real schedule. My mind sometimes builds projects much faster than my
hands :)
I've had lots of good experiences w/034 - this wouldn't dissuade me from
continuing to do business w/them.

While on the subject...I bought a dual mass fly wheel, and clutch kit
from an independent parts supplier. 11 months after the purchase, when
installing it, I found out the pressure plate and clutch disc were the
wrong ones. (the PP was for a 7A and didn't fit with the DM FW). When
contacted, the supplier told me I should of called sooner. Anyone who
needs these parts? At the end of the day, I was out $500 or so.
Live and learn I guess.

Wow, that sucks. I guess the stories I've heard about 034 are true-
buyer
beware.
Although 3 years is a really long time- I had a similar issue with a
vendor
where they sold me the wrong part, but I didn't know about it for 18
months
(never installed it and I can't tell the difference just by looking at
it-
box wasn't labeled wrong or anything). I kind of strong-armed the vendor
into giving me a small concession, but at least the part was workable.
I'd be really pissed if the part was simply faulty.
