[s-cars] Fwd: Squealing chipmunks (in dash vent)

Haven't chimed in since I've not BTDT myself and was waiting for somebody
who did to ring in, but I also have the occaisional blower motor squeal on
and off (as others have noted seems worst when cold) and as a result I did
some research on the topic.

Three key messages I dug out of my research:

- Yes "proper" blower R&R is a huge deal requiring extensive dash and
under-cowl work, and apparently really sucks.

- Some have had luck with the 'spray and pray', specifically by carefully
drilling little access holes in just the right spot in the blower housing
under the cowl (fraught with danger and hard to be sure exactly where best
spot is to drill...)

- A couple of guys have done frankenblower R&R by cutting the housing open
under the cowl, then devising a way to screw it back together and seal it up
afterwards.

Oddly enough after being really bad a year or two ago, mine seems to have
relented and healed itself... HVAC all working fine and seldom if ever get
the noise. Can't explain it, except that at one point I did tighten the
clamps around the housing that are accessible under the cowl and maybe that
helped somehow...
