Yep, the threaded shaft snapped, just as Wylie said. I had it happen to me
last year.....that was a fun job!

Master cylinder shaft has snapped. Hope he knows how to match revs... BTDT
just this past May.

Subject: [s-cars] Clutch pedal snap sound and now on floor Doug G needs
suggestion

Hey there. 1995.5 S6

Just took a call from Doug Gray, who’s clutch pedal dropped to the floor,
just
after hearing a distinct

‘snap’ sound. Doug recently had the clutch replaced thinks the slave
cylinder was repleaced also. He’s off the road on the shoulder, rearranging
his schedule.

He can cycle the pedal up and down by hand.. but there is now clutch
activation.

Is there some piece of chinsy plastic connecting the clutch pedal to the
master clutch cylinder in the footwell?

Just trying to help a fellow S car guy on the side of road here in New
England. thanks for any suggestions.
Jeff
