a) I'd want to know when the timing belt was done. At 118K, it's almost due
and will need to be considered.
b) The LED driver info display tends to lose the LEDs, line by line.
Replacement is not easy or cheap. Loosing mine made me miss a low oil
level warning, which cost me an engine in my '99.
c) That era +/- turbos had sludge problems. Check the maint. records to see
how often the oil was changed, with what kinds of oil, and look for sludge
under the oil cap.
d) Audi automatics are not know for being robust. My '99 has a leak, which
wouldn't be so much of a problem but there is no dip stick and filling
it is done from the bottom of the transmission. I think by '02 they've
gotten better, but make sure it shifts smoothly in all gears and there's
no lag between shifts.
