You did mention it's a manual Dave...right there in the first sentence of your post.  I think the mention of the (understood) seller's physical condition necessitating the sale and switching to an automatic was what got Kent crossed-up.  We'll give him a pass, this time. 

Anyway, while heavier, the B6 chassis is more robust, far more rigid, and safer than the B5.  Personally, I love them. I like the B5 for what it isn't (heavy) but the B6 for what it is (better ride, while still being fairly nimble).
Pay attention to the maintenance history, as the TB should have been done at least once by now. The mileage interval on the -02 newer cars was 105K, which makes me cringe!
