The wife has operated and 03 1.8T since new with minimal problems.
It has a lot fewer miles and synthetic oil from the start even when
Audi was
not paying for synthetic oil in the free maintenance program. A few
items in
the emissions piping are not as robust as needed and are expensive for
hoses. The ECU handles many more modules for diagnosis and many
more sensors in the engine emissions system. This allows you to
pinpoint
more problems with VAG-COM especially when coupled with the TSBs on
the cars.
