Here is a place to start, Patrick.  On a practical note, you need a  
means
to clear the codes since you want to devote your efforts to current  
issues. If the
flap motors are slow on occasion it may drop an intermittent code, for  
example.

Swapping the c/c control unit will help determine if the problems are  
in the
unit itself or in the airbox.
