[s-cars] climate control issues

great notes from Stott. and as pointed out, yes it is all supposed to work
well and they generally do until the servos or blower motor crap out, with
CC head failure being a distant but still not unheard-of third place.

the servo motors get clogged with brush dust but usually still
partially/intermittently work for a long time, showing symptoms as you
outlined - temp or outlets don't always give what you ask for but not 100%
failure. when this happens you get codes so it's easily tracked down.
servos can be disassembled and cleaned to rehabilitate for free, not as good
as new obviously but enough to get you another year or more of life. worked
well for me for sure.

also back to the original post, if half the display is shot, it could just
be the LED but there's every reason to be suspicious something else (or
several something elses) has pooped the bed inside there as well. do the CC
head swap, it's a 5 minute job, and even if it doesn't fix it, then with a
good display you can read the codes which will probably tell you servos are
getting gunked up etc.
