Incoherent rant!?! Jeez a guy tries to make a little hearfelt earnest and
open contribution and this is the flack he gets.
Krasusky I hold you responsible, encouraging this type of improper dialogue
and exposing innocent posters to such approbation.
I'll have you know I am strongly considering permanently resigning,
quitting, stepping down, abdicating, fore-swearing, un-entangling,
divorcing, terminating-diplomatic-relationships, and otherwise
disassociating myself from this list, as well as other related, associated,
or similar lists or eligible groups that may or may not to-be-named-later on
an absolutely perhaps permanent basis until further notice as needed pending
final confirmation, but otherwise an absolute eternal interim commitment
allowing for the need to please check back with me tomorrow in the event of
unforseen developments yet still mark my words this is the last post I'll
ever make until the next one.

Speaking of incoherent rants, now presented for your NAC LAF amusement:
An amazing documentary on the real issue at hand with these runaway Toyotas:

You guys are right- most people do not know how to use maximum acceleration
or braking, especially braking. These so-called accidents would be
preventable if people actually learned how to drive.
A bunch of cars have the pushbutton start now- yes, on a bunch of them, you
can turn the engine off even while moving. I don't think you can do that on
an Audi unless you put it in neutral or park, though. You can definitely do
it on a Jag, Corvette and some other cars, though. I would think that
shutting the engine off on a Jag XF or XJ would be scary- you have to wait
for the transmission selector to come back up out of the center console
before you can do anything.
Also, on a manual transmission car, if you can shut it off while driving,
it's a PITA to restart- most have clutch interlocks these days so you have
to remember to depress the clutch fully in order to restart- not necessarily
that easy to remember in an emergency situation- how often does anyone stop
and restart one's car while in motion?
BTW, that was one seriously incoherent rant. :-)
