Pretty common issue for the sensor to short internally... as I recall if you
disconnect and the warning goes away the sensor is bad. Don't have the
manual in front of me to confirm.

Subject: [s-cars] Coolant leak and MFTS Sensor.....
Hey guys,
Figured I'd try to divert the list's attention a bit from the recent NAC ; )
I did find that I've got a small leak in the top coolant hose that is
dripping onto the MFTS and wires.......When I was digging around for the
leak, I disconnected the wires to the sensor, cleaned everything up, let dry
for a day, topped off the coolant and put everything back together later
that evening. Started the car, and shortly thereafter the red flashing
coolant light comes on again. Does this mean that my MFTS sensor has
shorted? Problems with the wires? Or do I have issues other than what I'm
thinking?
Also, any part # for that top coolant hose? Anywhere else but the dealer?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Jim Fleischer
