Abe,

I have used www.mcwheel.com  ( in Swanzy, NH close to Keene) to repair one 
Avus wheel a couple of years ago. I think it was $ 100, so not much cheaper 
than the price you were quoted. They list auto wheel repair at $ 80-120.
