I had good success with plastic welding w/ stainless steel screen.

What Tom said.

secret screws are in the upper outer corners of the also secret flaps.
Take a flashlight and look up behind this panel and you will see  
something like a pinch type tab or two that will give you a big hint  
as to how to more easily release the panel.  Reach in and pinch the  
backside of these clips/tabs whilst pulling on the panel.
Butofcourse none of this will work,
But I thought I'd mention it.
Take heart though
Whatever you rip up when pulling the panel off can be repaired with  
Kevlar and epoxy.
