Hey... I resemble that remark. 8-)
Yes, I took the plunge also. They might open a bit more softly, but
the ones they replaced (worldpac part, don't remember the name) had
failed in less than a month.
The worldpac parts were so stiff that the amount of effort required to
shut the lid eventually cracked and snapped off the plastic socket
which attaches to the car.
