[s-cars] Trunk locked and I can't get in!

There is some cheap pot steel half moon shaped engagement that allows the opening finger to hit the release when in the proper position. I've seen many of these get broken, and only work when just touching the broken portion of the half moon. I would pull the trim off and make sure the engagement disc is not broken, bent or otherwise compromised.

I'm not positive it's the same on a C4, but on a 5000 the trunk lock
has three positions. Verticle is locked, horizontal by turning counter-
clockwise is "lock and unlock with the doors", and 45 degrees turned
clockwise from locked is "temporary unlock" for lack of a better term
- you turn to that position and with the key still inserted push the
button to open the trunk. It won't let you remove the key until you
turn back to the locked position.
