tx!

lol on the parking - right?

it's a 4, A's had indicators on the tops of the fenders (my pop had a new '66 4A IRS, I tossed it a couple years ago sadly), and 250s had a diff grille and a moustache stripe (ole!)

too funny

Cool basic 4, the driver was a bit of a *dog* tho! 8-)

I liked the juxtaposition of the 4 and the 3, same cars diff'rnt panels

-Paul

Nice pics! Of course, they had to park the TR-4/4a/250 (?) and TR-3 in the handiman spot...Figures.

So I'm back from 10daze in sunny Orange County, trying to recoup after a 1am landing - oy.

Got to meet an IL //S8'er in the Gaslamp District who was also there on travels for a few cold ones and many laughs. Another guy Jaime lived locally and was to join us as well but he had to bag due to a last minute meeting. Instead he suggested he pick me up that Sat for the Cars & Coffee in Irvine. Oh man, whattapal... whattapal whattapal.

Course I insisted (demanded?) he shag me in his '92 ///M5 Touring... one of 891 made and maybe 30 in the US - and likely the only one fed'd in CA. Car's near perfect, and hearing the song sung WOT via the 340hp 3.8L Swan Song 6 (one of BMW's finest ever motors IMO) was just what sunrise in SoCal demanded.

We strolled thru here awhile which didn't suck (turned out to be the same epic C&C that I'd seen on YouTube weeks prior, go figure?), then swung thru his place to switch cars. Drove past his (also Euro!) 560SEC (oh momma it's soooo nice) to get into his 60k '01 //S8.

Jaime proved with distinctive awesomeness profoundly evident that 265's do in fact fit on OE Avus 18x8s (whodathunkit?)... not just fit but OMG fit. Apparently 10mm spacers F / 15mm R and Bob's his Uncle! Dayum did it look good, not to mention there's not a mark on his car. Take heed, tire needers! This is a must do IMagainHO), fersure. Hilarity about his //S8 tho was I no joke f'n spied him driving it the day we arrived earlier in the week, all of CA and I see a silver //S8 driving and it turns out to be him and he's not even near where he lived? WEIRD.

Apart from partaying me silly face off for 10daze with 18 (18!) of my wife's fam that went for the wedding that wasn't, saw / did some great fam touristy dork stuff. Tar pits were neat!

Sun to Sun timeshare check-in had us 1st/last night'ing in a hotel, which adjoined Newport Ducati (oh darn). Also determined out of alllll of CA it was 7mi from editor Bidrawn's office of ECMag - how opportune. Chewed the car breeze together for an hour @ his desk, assigned me some more stuff. Now to perform under pressure - joy!

anywho, a silly pointless tale to say nothing more than good car shenanigan times with even better folks. Tx PW / Jaime for meeting, hope to again going fwd! Jaime, I thoroughly enjoyed our morning together - the opp to meet someone so kind and fun was a treat. Fmr Team Mgr Minardi F1!?!? You're too modest 8-).

Such great folks we're blessed w/ in our circles here gentz - take advantage when can!!!

anyanywho...
