[s-cars] A4 timing belt change - need help with BTDT

My '01 TT with AMU 1.8t 5 valve has an internal water pump ala the MC/3B/AAN
that is driven by the timing belt.  It is a static install however, and
sadly the OEM version often came with a plastic impeller which is known to
fail - most in the know recommend replacement with a metal impeller version
given the option. The tbelt uses a hydraulic tensioning device (which has
been a point of failure in the past and is a recommend replacement item as
well).

As for the A4 (per ETKA), it looks like the AWM motor uses an internal water
pump, whereas the AEB/ATW have an external water pump ala the old
rabbits/jettas.

Note that only the early 1.8t's use a discrete water pump belt. Kase didn't
specify a year, but most use the timing belt just like a 5cyl.

Somebody in-the-know clarify for me... Is the remote mounted water pump only
on 4-valve 1.8t's and the timing belt driven pump on the 5v version?
