[s-cars] New to 'S' cars

Those look like the bulbs for the B5 A4 clusters. I have tried them and they do fit interchangeably, just the base is different.

Oh, that kinda takes that option away. The larger based 2W bulbs don't seem to have that restriction. They are still 9.4mm across the base so they should work as an alternative. Here's the link.

Not quite the same "deal", but still cheaper.

Unfortunately, from Allied the minimum order is 700. Of course, if you had 60 people for a GB............................

On the topic of the 2W bulbs, the write-up can be found here:
http://12v.org/faq/c4/instrument_cluster_bulb_replacement.htm
and this might be of use too.
http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/42075.phtml

The cheapest source I've seen is Allied Electronics. You can't search by Audi p/n, but the Osram/Sylvania part is 39320 or 2352MFX6.

Bob...

Blau used to carry a kit, but don't for our cars anymore. Thank god I keep everything. I found the old package from my UrS4 days and it had some part numbers. A little Google work, and here you go:

http://www.rmeuropean.com/Part-Number/Bulb-12V---2W-Clear-Glass-(Green-Base)-__893919040A_OSR_2439488A.aspx

I guess I'll get some also!

Good point, Chris. If the lights are unknowingly "dimmed" then
nothing will help. But I disagree with your view of the stock
lighting. Those steenking little 1.2 watt bulbs just don't cut
it. Replacing them with 2 watt bulbs makes a BIG difference. Three
watt bulbs would probably be better if they even exist.

BTW, does anyone have a suggestion where the 2 watt bulbs can be
located. Scott Mockry has them listed on his on-line catalog but
they are noted as not available.

Bob
